Frequent readers will have noticed that most Renault LeCars offered for sale will show up here – they’re a quirky, iconic classic that had much more success outside of North America. Most survivors have faded paint, sun-baked interiors, rust, or mechanical failures, combined with low miles, but occasionally you’ll find a European market car, or one set up with some desirable features that keep it from getting lumped in with every other LeCar. You can find this 1983 Renault LeCar for sale for C$950 ($870 today) in Tsawwassen, BC.

June 6, 2014Projekt Saab – 1978 Saab 99 Turbo
May 28, 2014Many people will have you believe that shortly after today’s featured Buick was built, everything went downhill. The feds forced big bumpers, impact bars, smog equipment and retarded timing on cars and made them into shriveled up versions of their former selves. But that’s not entirely true, as some interesting solutions came out of those difficult times, including one of the first truly successful applications of turbocharging to a passenger car (yes anoraks, Corvairs and BMW 2002 turbos came first). Have a look at this 1978 Saab 99 turbo, for sale for $900 in Portland, OR.
Not Bad – 1968 MG BGT
May 19, 2014With the attrition of increasingly older post-war sports cars, the remaining examples seem to be becoming more and more costly. So where you could get a running (if somewhat dilapidated) car with the remnants of an open top and a fruity exhaust note, perhaps enhanced by a couple of leaks, that is no longer as common an option. Poking around classifieds will still net you some of those deals of the past, though, and many of those are the cars highlighted here. Check out this 1968 MG BGT, for sale for $1200 in Petaluma, CA.
