We haven’t had the occasion to feature many kit cars, primarily because the ones at the lower end of the price range are non-running kits that were never completed in the first place. However, given the growing craze for older fiberglass cars (both 1950s kits and Manx-type dune buggies), it’s worth look at this category a little more closely. Wouldn’t it be nice to be an early adopter on some kind of bandwagon and have a little fun along the way? Check out this 1972 Bradley GT for sale in Morris, OH for $1800.

December 11, 2013Not Oh-Pal – 1974 Opel Ascona and 1971 Opel Manta
December 3, 2013Opels were a not uncommon car back when they were just used cars, but now the youngest ones sold in the US are at least 38 years old, and in their primary role as affordable runabouts, most have disappeared from the roads. However, as most European cars do, they attracted an enthusiast contingent, including one man who has hoarded accumulated a significant collection in warehouses and outdoor lots. Technically, he can’t be called a hoarder since he’s “selling”, although quite a few of his cars are priced to look like they’re waiting for when the rising Porsche tide floats his Opel boats. Of course, in many cases, “where are you going to find another?” is the only response to that statement. You can find his 1974 Opel Ascona A 2-door for sale in Riverside, CA for $1500.
Ceci N’est Pas Un Policier – 1969 Renault R10
November 20, 2013Based on the Renault 8, which itself was based on the Dauphine of 1956, the 1965-71 Renault 10 received the Caravelle’s 1108cc engine, and benefited from a larger nose (insert inappropriate French stereotype here) in which the owner could store more luggage. The interesting thing about this car is the engines available in its little brother, including a 1255cc engine with an impressive 103hp – this when the Alfa Romeo GTA 1300 Junior Stradale had 96-110hp, depending on spec. The car itself definitely has a funky which-way-is-it-going vibe, which would actually make it a great sleeper, providing you can keep the front wheels on the ground. Check out this 1969 Renault 10 for sale in Alliance (really!), OH for $1500.
