Two-Year Model – 1979 Saab 900 GLE 5-Door

June 27, 2016

With the demise of Saab in 2011, finding an example of Sweden’s odder marque is pretty unusual, unless you live in a major American northeastern or western city. But what to do if all your friends drive Saabs, and you want to stand out? How about trying to find a two-door sedan, only offered for a couple of years in North America? Well, those are nice and light, and structurally probably quite stiff, but not as utilitarian as a Saab could be. So let’s go one step further back in the history of the 900, and find an elusive Saab 5-door hatch. No, it’s not a 9000, it’s this this 1979 Saab 900 GLE 5-Door for sale for $2395 in Estacada, OR.

Alfatragic – 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Sedan Alfamatic

June 26, 2016

With Alfa Romeo’s increasing popularity among a broader base of vintage car enthusiasts, even the lowly Alfetta has attracted more fans. More people must be recognizing that, in spite of the rust issues, daily driver concerns and the underdeveloped emissions system on North American cars, the great steering and balance of Alfa’s 116 platform makes it a rewarding driver-level classic. Or they’re just sad they couldn’t pick up a Giulia for $3500 anymore and are looking to the next most affordable option. Either way, let’s check out this 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Sedan for sale with bidding at $2801 and 18 hours left to go in Decatur, GA.

Not European – 1962 and 1960 Rover P5 Pair

June 25, 2016

Rovers, largely unknown and unrecognized in North America, are a great alternative choice in the wood-and-leather class of car. With an upright grill that apes nobody else’s, a large black-rimmed steering wheel, over-stuffed leather seats and a stout inline six-cylinder all contributed to the luxurious feeling of the P5, as did the leather rear bench with center and door armrests, as well as a reading lamp. All those features gained the car the approval of many prominent Britons, but of very few North Americans, with no Rover – P5, P6, or SD1 – seeming to have significant success in the New World. Fortunately, that makes them fairly affordable here – check out this pair of 1962 and 1960 Rover P5s, currently bid at $553 with 3 1/2 days left to go in Klamath Falls, OR.
