Turkeys for the Holiday – Two 1967 Triumph 2000 Mk1 Sedans

November 27, 2014

It seems appropriate, with the biggest day of cheap stuff around the corner, that an automotive door buster be today’s feature. And this is a warehouse-shopping-style deal – a two-pack of merchandise at a very low price. The price per pound here is probably just as good, if not better than the more common low-buck American boat. As with all deals, you’ll have to accept some compromises, but hey look, cheap stuff! Check out this pair of Triumph 2000 Mk1 sedans for sale for $500 in St. Helens, WA.

Rusty But Trusty on the Street – BMW 2002tii, Jaguar XJ6, Pontiac Catalina, Datsun 2000, and Mercedes 280SL

April 1, 2014

Time for more catching up on the local sights. First off is an early-morning sighting of a BMW 2002tii the way we like them – daily driven and a little crispy around the edges. This would probably horrify the local BMWCCA show crowd – after all, no amount of Q-tips will clean the dirt out of the nooks and crannies on this one – but it’s great to see someone actually using their 2002 – a tii no less – as intended. This looks to be the Agave green color, and aside from the rust, it looks really straight and complete, down to the steel tii wheels with hubcaps. This has been a California car since at least the early 1980s, judging by the sunrise plates.

The Last Real…. – 1974 Lancia 2000 Berlina Iniezione

March 28, 2014

Towards the end of the 1960s, Lancia was really on the ropes financially, and their family-size sedan, the Flavia, dated to 1960, which meant its design phase occurred back in the late 1950s. Lancia really needed something to boost interest, and so they decided to heavily revise the Flavia sedan. This included a fully new nose, tail, and updated interior. The result was somewhat bland, if European-looking, and the cost to produce the car was so high Fiat nearly succeeded in killing it once they’d acquired Lancia. Lancia’s managers prevailed, however, for lack of a suitable alternative until the Beta was ready. You can find this end-of-run 1974 Lancia 2000 Berlina iniezione for sale for €3000 ($4100 today) in Cassano-Magnago, Varese, Italy.
