Produced over 18 years, there sure are many MGBs out there, but since they epitomize the British sports car much like the Ford Mustang epitomizes the American sports coupe, they’re worth a look. As mentioned in an article in Hemmings Sports & Exotic car last year, the great thing about MG’s B and BGT is their simplicity, and, if well-maintained, their reliability. Of course, being the epitome of the British sports car, many other people have picked up on this fact, so you might have to look a bit deeper than the obvious chrome-bumper, steel-dash, wire-wheel cars of the 1960s. And if you can get into the aesthetics of the late 1970s and early 1980s, either for irony or nostalgia, it’s worth a look at this 1980 MGB LE for sale for $3800 in Georgetown, TX.

September 12, 2014As much as the more complex, more unusual cars are cool, there’s something about a basic sports car that is hard to resist. And the MGB got the basics right – exhaust note, tidy styling, some trunk room for a weekend away, simple drivetrain, and some chrome-ringed gauges. Sometimes, though, it seems like even the basics are slipping out of reach, so we’re here to keep it real – check out this 1973 MGB for sale for $2000 near Hayward, CA.
Revolution! – 1974 MGB GT
September 2, 2014Have you ever found a car that appeals to you, even though it shouldn’t, based on your own personal guidelines and tastes? Somehow, the builder/owner has found the right combination of wheels, color, stance and more to enable the car to break the rules – whether it’s design, attention to detail, or craftsmanship. That’s how you can appreciate a low rider, even if your natural predilections are towards small French cars of the 1970s. Check out this 1974 MGB GT for sale for $3800 in Plainville, MA.
