Was ist los? 1970 Opel GT

December 23, 2013

On a German car roll today, we know many of you have more than a passing interest in Opel GTs. And who wouldn’t like these, with their sexy Coke-bottle styling that set the tone for the C3 Corvette, plus a reasonably powerful inline 4 cam-in-head engine. These are also the most plentiful of the classic Opels, as they were more likely to be a second car and therefore well-treated compared to a Kadett or 1900 Sportwagon, or even a Manta. You can find this 1970 Opel GT for sale in Anacortes, WA for $2900.

Plastic Fantastic – 1972 Bradley GT

December 11, 2013

We haven’t had the occasion to feature many kit cars, primarily because the ones at the lower end of the price range are non-running kits that were never completed in the first place. However, given the growing craze for older fiberglass cars (both 1950s kits and Manx-type dune buggies), it’s worth look at this category a little more closely. Wouldn’t it be nice to be an early adopter on some kind of bandwagon and have a little fun along the way? Check out this 1972 Bradley GT for sale in Morris, OH for $1800.

Slow Porsche – 1979 Porsche 924 Sebring Edition

December 3, 2013

Even Porsche wasn’t immune to the 1970s trend of stripes ‘n’ stickers special editions. For 1976 and 1977, they produced the Martini special edition of the 924, and for 1979, the Sebring edition of the same car. However, while the Martini cars received front and rear sway bars, the Sebring cars were purely striped, and wore a red and blue tartan interior. The stickers were likely added because the car was selling slowly, receiving the same reception as the 914 in its day, and that continues to be the truth today. You can find this 1979 Porsche 924 Sebring Edition for sale in Orange, CA, for $2500, where it has been for sale since at least this May.
