With the support of the compact 128 sedan, Fiat sales rose above 100,000 in 1975. However, lax build quality, poor resistance to corrosion, and poorly-trained mechanics all led to Fiat’s demise in North America, and they pulled out in 1983. At this point, you’d expect the survivors are mostly the mid-week cars that were the best-assembled. However, being cheap cars, there are still some about that need work, and being old cars, there are some that have sat for ages and need attention. This seems to be the case for this 1978 Fiat 128 sedan for sale for $2800 in Elmhurst, IL.

Rise & Decline – 1978 Fiat 128 Sedan
June 12, 2014Behind Door #3 – 1958 Fiat 1100 103D
June 10, 2014Back in the days when GM, Chrysler and Ford were appending giant tailfins to their cars, and manufacturers around the world couldn’t decide which way the doors should open, Fiat released the 1100 into the marketplace. If you’ll recall, the 1950s and 1960s produced cars with suicide doors in the front, suicide doors in the back, gullwing doors, sliding doors, and no doors at all. Lancia’s Appia even had no b-pillar and rear suicide doors to aid access. Interestingly, there was no car with suicide doors front and rear. Rare Color – Mocha Frost 1991 Ford Taurus SHO
June 9, 2014After tantalizing you all with the gorgeous intake of that second-generation Taurus SHO last week, we’ve got another one to share. SHOs are already fairly rare cars, but with a bit of poking around, you can find out there were other colors than silver, red and white, and one of those was Mocha Frost (clearly someone was craving a cool, caffeinated drink on a hot day). Beyond that, a limited amount of Tauruses (Tauri? No doubt the vast Ford Taurus enthusiast base will provide an opinion or two) were available with the Plus package tacked on to their SHOs, which included things like a plastic hood with bulge, rear spoiler, and more. However, there were no performance enhancements, so Plus package or no, you still get that sweet V6. Check out this 1991 Ford Taurus SHO Plus for sale for $3500 in Milpitas, CA.
