Secret 4AGE Man – 1988 Chevrolet Nova Twin Cam

November 4, 2015

Anybody who’s been watching the classic Japanese car craze of the last five to ten years will know the alphanumeric 4AGE engine designation. Even if 22R and 2T-C don’t mean much to you, 4AGE still means the sweet, revvy inline four cylinder with a Yamaha designed head, famous for appearances in Toyota’s MR2, Corolla GT-S, and Corolla FX16. However, the engine also made lesser-known appearances in cars like the Geo Prism GSi and this 1988 Chevrolet Nova Twin Cam for sale for $3450 in Portland, OR.

Swedish for Ford – 1964 Volvo 544

October 28, 2015

Volvo’s 544 was arguably the first foray for Swedish cars in the North American market that successfully built the foundation of Volvo’s reputation there, and perhaps even Swedish cars in general. It’s a sporting but sturdy car with plenty of interior room. Its styling, which was dated even when it was new, also started a long-lasting trend for Volvo – while later Volvos were not dated when new, Volvo did make the most of every design, getting more value out of each one than most manufacturers would. Check out this 1964 Volvo 544 for sale for $3950 in Tigard, OR.

Forlorn Pair – 1968 Alfa Romeo Berlina & 1965 Ford Mustang

October 21, 2015

Sometimes you come across a listing that has to have an interesting back story – clues in the picture suggest it’s more than just hoarding or someone selling a no-longer-needed car. Today’s feature is such a listing – both cars look like they were once in great shape, and the seller had broad enough interests to have both an iconic American coupe and an unconventional Italian sedan. Check out this 1968 Alfa Romeo Berlina and 1965 Ford Mustang, for sale for $1500 (for both!) in Tampa, FL.
