Coffee Can – 1972 BMW Bavaria

September 10, 2013

Look around for old cars and who knows what you’ll turn up. That’s how a quick search for a BMW 2002 turns up some other interesting cars, among them this 1972 BMW Bavaria, listed for $2500 in Sacramento, CA (and previously featured here in 2011!). These are a more comfortable, more powerful long-distance cruiser, while having a more performance-oriented bent than the equivalent Mercedes sedan.

September 9, 2013

As an owner of a 2002 that’s currently parked while the Alfetta gets some much-delayed sorting, the longing for the 2002 inspired a quick search. The BMW 2002 FAQ is a popular forum for folks addicted to these little boxes, so what better place to look for another? Sure enough, a couple starter candidates turned up. The first is a 1970 BMW 2002 for $3000 in Emeryville, CA.

What’s Two-Fer in Italian? Pair of Fiat 850 Spiders

September 9, 2013

Is it due-per? Anyhow, these little Bertone spiders are such fun-looking little cars. People who’ve owned them say that although they’re not fast, they feel quick, and of course there’s the whole thing about having a great time going at 10/10ths in a slow car. There’s also something remarkably sophisticated about them for a car their class – front disc brakes, coils and trailing link suspension at the rear, and simple folding top that hides under a tidy metal cover. And what is better than a car of such elegance and pedigree as the Fiat 850 spider? Two Fiat 850 spiders, for the bargain price of $4000 in Covington, WA.
