Overshadowed – 1985 BMW 325e

February 14, 2015

BMW’s E30 3-series, once yuppie standard, now cult icon, has a definite pecking order. The M3 is way up at the top, followed by the 325is, 325i, 318is or 325iX, and then much further down, the 325e and 318i. While the early 318i probably can’t get out of its own way, the 325e and 325es are worth a second glance as the favorites creep up in value. While you give up some power, it’s still worth considering this is a relatively light car at around 2500 lb., and you still get the joy of the BMW straight six and excellent shifter, along with the tall greenhouse that’s a classic BMW design trait. Tree Hugger – 1956 Lincoln Premiere

January 4, 2015

There’s something fascinating about American cars when they were at their postwar peak – they’re a pure expression of how we were doing economically, and where our design sense was pointed, but some of the top models were also built with pretty amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail. One of those is the Lincoln Premiere – a large hardtop 2-door powered by a massive engine, and with heaps of chrome. Check out this 1956 Lincoln Premiere for sale for $3700 in Brentwood, CA.

Details – 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT

December 29, 2014

With the RustyButTrusty fleet manager recently missing out on an opportunity to pick up a 3-figure classic Italian coupe in decent shape, it’s time to feature one of the more readily available four-figure Italian coupes. While there are some 3-figure cars out there, it’s a good chance you’ll have to put in a fair amount of work to get them usable. And with this car, it looks to be a usable driver, but a detailed look will give you an idea of what you’re signing up for. Check out this 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT for sale for $3500 in Astoria, OR.
