After a solid run of some interesting wagons, it’s time to focus back on our primary mission – find unusual, sporty cars for short money! And as usual, the classic car gods provide, in this case a pair of Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTs. If you’re a regular reader, you know about the great shape that shares cues with various exotics and other sports coupes of the period, the sweet four-cylinder that keeps telling you to wind it out, and the nicely balanced transaxle chassis. Non-Profit – 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT

Not many cars can get quite as crispy as an Alfetta GT, and for our turkey weekend, here’s a prime example, in that even cars that were carefully stored outdoors in a dry environment (okay, near an ocean, kind of) can end up pretty rusty. That said, an optimistic eye (hey, you’re reading this site, you have to be at least a partial optimist) will show plenty of surface rust, but not much serious structural rust, so hopefully that assessment will prove accurate. After all, ugly is fine, but it’s a little harder to compromise on things like your seat falling through the floor. Check out this 1977 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT for sale for $650 in Carmel Valley, CA.

Albertalfetta – 1975 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT

Since it’s this site’s self-appointed duty to catch as many affordable Alfettas as possible, and because enthusiasts in the snowier, colder parts of the country need all the help they can get to get their oddball car fix, featuring an Alfetta in Alberta is kind of a slam dunk. And that raises several questions – how long has this car lived there? And in spite of the lack of salt on roads – if that was still true back in the 1970s – how has this thing survived so long in anything but a dry western climate?
