This past weekend, Cal Worthington died at age 92. Now that dealerships are all owned (for better or worse) by faceless companies like Carmax, it seems fitting to memorialize the man (and his “dog” Spot) with a car that might have been sold by him. It’s a 1969 Ford Fairlane GT in Port Hueneme, CA for $3800.
The period wheels in gray look great on this gray metallic car. It needs a new pinion shaft, and the seller says it needs some interior work, although the seats themselves look usable. The quad headlights in the black grill have always looked very aggressive. This sixth generation Fairlane has the base 302ci engine, but the transmission is not specified (assume automatic with a car of this size).
The seller is willing to be flexible on price, so perhaps there’s a deal to be had!
